I'm running a writing competition at the moment - just a line, paragraph, however much you want, on what makes KMD special for you.
Here's Bodil's answer (not their real name):
"I had always hidden myself and my scars away, until (in my thirty-sixth year of life), I met a man who kissed them one by one, until there was nothing left of my damage but his tenderness. I believe he occurred for this purpose.
As a low income single mother with a disability, I can afford few luxuries, but though I wear them beneath thrift shop frocks, your pieces give me the confidence I need to smile quietly in social situations that once terrified me.
A few months ago I made a choice to reduce my isolation by reducing someone else's. I found a website which links pen pals with inmates serving life. My friend is an aboriginal man who should have seen justice as a child, not when he made a panicked choice at twenty-one.
My neighbour usually photographs fruit for magazines, but I made a proposition to him last week, and we had fun doing a pin-up shoot. I am sending the results to my incarcerated gentleman, along with pictures of the world he doesn't get to see. In them your girdle features heavily.
Thank you so much for the fun stuff you do on you website."
