What makes KMD special to you? Women can be doctors too.

I'm running a writing competition at the moment - just a line, paragraph, however much you want, on what makes KMD special for you.

Here's Hannah's answer (not their real name):

"KMD is special to me because it feels me with a sense of success and achievement when I wear my KMD underthings. I have wanted to be a doctor since I was three, but growing up female in the southern US, my parents weren't so encouraging.

I left home to go to university on a partial scholarship, and I worked very hard to get through my engineering degree. I then used my engineering skills to get a job and worked through graduate engineering to get a better job to save money for medical school. My parents wouldn't help with the loans, so I needed the money on my own.

When I was in school, I saw a magazine with the beautiful Morgana and some internet searching later, I met KMD. I wanted the Vargas dress in the Clue scene SO badly, but I needed book fees and food. So, I promised myself I would buy KMD when I graduated with my first intern pay check. Fast forward to 2009, I graduated from medical school--much to my parents' surprise--despite being a girl. I got the peach Vargas dress from the Midsummer Night's Dream scene.

Every time I wear it, I think back to all the times my parents told me I was making a mistake and I feel proud. I worked hard. I got what I wanted. Having the financial security to buy the most gorgeous knickers on the planet makes my success feel really real. I feel powerful and like I can kick some serious ass. I think I probably owe Morgana a big thank you as well. She was an inspiration at a time when I had little money, lots of exams, and no support from my parents. Luckily, I had great friends and a wonderful husband. He bought me that magazine, by the way.

So, in short, I love KMD because it means that all my hard work has paid off. I can get the things that I like, feel great in them, and look fabulous. And by being loyal to KMD, I am supporting another woman who kicks ass (Catherine), so all the better. If you know anyone with a spare blue Vargas dress..."
