A new style for Autumn 2010, this retro longline underwired bra, longline girdle, reversible knicker and 6-strap suspender belt in solid satin or satin and mesh are all made with the cutest print. A black background is strewn with lingerie, jewellery, perfume, powder puffs and other boudoir essentials in blue, pink and white.
This came in sizes 32, 34 and 36 B-DD for the bra and S-XL for the other items.
We backed the soft stretch satin with lingerie net for a supportive bra based on the Van Doren style, and cut it to make a non-stretch panel on the longline girdle. The girdle pulls on, whilst the suspender belts and bra have hook and eye fastenings to the rear. The knicker can be worn with its satin panel to the front or rear, depending on your tastes.
For this set of pictures, we took our inspiration from government posters issued during World War II. A turning point for the role of women in UK society, the "We can do it!" poster originally featured a woman known as Rosie the Riveter, who has become something of a feminist icon for her portrayal of strength and non-traditional skills for her gender.
